Dresden for kids
Dresden is well known for being a treasure trove of culture, art and architecture but that doesn’t mean there is a reason for kids to get bored there! Plenty of museums, entertainment options and activities are waiting to be visited by curious kids.
- Two different types of rails are famous for Dresden: the steam rail in the Großer Garten and the suspension railway! Rides can be taken on both which is a fun activity for kids.
- Also the Technical Museum is especially designed to appeal the inquisitive minds of schoolchildren and adolescents. It teaches interesting facts through experiments or the mathematical section.
- The Deutsches Hygiene Museum (‘’Museum of Hygiene’’) presents several thematic exhibitions about human beings. The main exhibition is ‘’The Human Adventure’’. With the help of exhibits, media productions and numerous interactive stations anyone can study the structure of the body and the functions of its individual parts. The interactive exhibition ‘’The World Of The Senses’’ is especially interesting for children from 4-12 years.
- A little more active are the excursions to the Forest Rope-Park which offers climbing courses, or to Indoor Playgrounds offering bouncy castles, ball pools and a lot more fun for the little ones!
- Boat trips on the Elbe are very popular especially in summer. Kids can be captains themselves and experience Dresden from the water, which is a unique experience for every child!
- Dresden’s Zoo is the favorite family destination since 1861! Have a great time with kids while seeing koalas munching on leaves or watching the orangutans.
